Garment Employees Trade Union Center
A rally organised by Garment Employees Trade Union Center was held in front of the National Press Club in the city on Friday to meet its various demands. President of the organisation Advocate Mantu Ghosh presided over the rally. While addressing the speakers urged the government and leaders of BGMEA, BKMEA and owners of all garment factories to implement the increased salary declared for the garment employees. The speakers also declared to stage demonstration in front of the BGMEA office in the city on April 24 next demanding to rehabilitate and adequate compensation to the victims of Rana Plaza collapse. They also called upon all garments employees to join the demonstration to make the programme a success. The rally was addressed ,among others, by Vice-President of the organization Mahabub Alam, General Secretary Kazi Ruhul Amin, Joint General Secretary Joly Talukder, MA Shaheen, Jalal Hawlader and Manjurul Islam Majnu. Later, a red flag procession was brought out.
