Samajik Protirodh Committee
A discussion organised by Samajik Protirodh Committee was held at the office of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad in the city’s Segunbagicha. In the programme held recently the speakers demanded direct election in the reserved seats for women in the parliament election. They called upon all to make necessary steps to bring women in the mainstream of the politics. The speakers also demanded to empower women politically to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Advocacy Director of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad Jana Goswami conducted the function. The programme was addressed, among others, by President of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad Ayesha Khanam, Programme Co-ordinator of Manusher Janya Foundation Nazrana Yasmin Hira, Women Affairs Secretary of Trade Union Kendra Ayesha Islam, Animesh Sarker of Acid Survivors Foundation, Deputy Director of BLAST Mahbuba Akhter, Advocate Ferdous Nigar of Jatiya Mahila Ainjibi Samity, Nasrin Begum of BNPS, Nurun Nahar Begum of Action Aid Bangladesh and Director of Ain O Salish Kendra Rawshan Jahan Parvin. The speakers also demanded to fix electioneering area for the women reserved seats of the parliament.
