BD Poultry Industry Central Council
A discussion in observance of World Egg Day jointly organised by Bangladesh Poultry Industry Central Council (BPICC) and Department of Livestock Services (DLS), Rangpur division was held in the Town Hall auditorium in Rangpur on Friday. In the programme the speakers said that the poultry farmers already achieved laudable success in increasing egg production to meet protein demand of the growing population.
Side by side with meeting nutritional demand of the population in building a healthier nation, consumption of egg had also been ensuring balanced food and sound health for the people of all ages, they mentioned. A colourful rally was also brought out in the city marking the day. The event was addressed, among others, by Divisional Commissioner Kazi Hasan Ahmed, Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr Mozammel Hossain, Divisional unit President of BPICC Mahbub Alam and poultry farmer Mahmudul Hassan. Divisional Director of the DLS Dr Golam Mowla Zaglul presided over the function.
