Christian Adibashi Party
A human chain organised by Bangladesh Hindu Buddha Christian Adibashi Party was formed in front of Jatiya Press Club in the city on Saturday. In the programme the speakers demanded to re-establish historic Shri Shri Ramna Kali Mandir and Shri Ma Anandamayee Ashram in the real place. They also demanded exemplary punishment to the attackers on Bipul Roy, a son of martyred family. The human chain was addressed, among others, by Vice-Principal of Poet Nazrul Islam College Dr Golap Devnath, Vice-President of Tafshil Jati Federatuion Dev Dulal Saha, President of Sacheton Hindu Party Sunil Chandra Mallik and General Secretary of Shaheed Paribar Committee Bipul Roy. President of the organisation Mithun Chowdhury presided over the event.
Pritilata Brigade
All-female platform Pritilata Brigade organised a self defense training programme for women at the Raju Memorial Sculpture on Dhaka University campus on Friday. A total of 17 trainers led by the Pritilata Brigade convener Lucky Akhter participated in the training titled ‘Self Defense Training for Tonus’ supported by Taekwondo Federation. Every Friday the training programme will remain open for all ages of female.
Bishwa Bangla Kabita Parishad
A discussion marking the Independence Day and 97th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organised jointly by Bangla Academy and Bishwa Bangla Kabita Parishad was held recently at Bangla Academy in the city. Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu was present as the chief guest. While speaking Inu said those who cast aspersions on Bangabandhu are razakars (collaborators), ghosts of Pakistan and neo-razakars.”Those who make aspersions on Bangabandhu must be boycotted. There is no room for them in this country,” he added. The programme was also addressed, among others, by Awami League Presidium Member Nooh-ul Alam Lenin, Actor Hasan Imam, Bishwa Bangla Kabita Parishad General Secretary Aslam Sani and Bangla Academy Director Abdul Hai. Former Director of Jatiya Grantha Kendra Poet Ashim Saha presided over the event.
