Ghure Darao Bangladesh
A discussion on 5th death anniversary of former Secretary General of BNP Khondkar Delwar Hossain organised by Ghure Darao Bangladesh was held in the auditorium of Bangladesh Photojournalists Association in the city’s Purana Palton on Tuesday. BNP’s Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was present as the chief guest. While speaking Rizvi said that late Delwar Hossain was a light house of perception. He played pioneering role in the glorious Liberation War, Rizvi added. After the discussion special prayer was held for the salvation of the departed soul. The discussion was addressed, among others, by Jubo Dal President Advocate Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, BNP’s Assistant Organising Secretary Abdus Salam Azad and Presidium Member of NDP Manjur Hossain Isha.
Beneficiaries Friendship Forum
A day-long seminar on ‘Women’s rights on land and properties and gender equality’ organised jointly by NGO of Faridpur Beneficiaries Friendship Forum (BFF) and Association for Land Reform and Development(ALRD), Dhaka was held on Monday at BMA conference hall in Faridpur with the object of creating awareness among all strata of the society regarding prevailing denial situation about the rights women. In the seminar the speakers urged the government to frame laws so that all women of all religious faiths as the citizens of this country come under the same umbrella regarding the rights of women. The key-note paper on the subject was presented by Assistant Program Coordinator of ALRD Advocate Rafique Ahmed Sirajee. The seminar was addressed, among others. by some rural working women connected directly with agricultural activities including national award winner Noorjahan Sultana and Land law specialist Advocate Manik Majumdar.
