CHT Hill Students’ Council
A rally organised by CHT Hill Students’ Council was held at the foot of Aparajeya Bangla of Dhaka University on Monday. In the rally the leaders of the organisation bitterly criticized the preplanned attack on jummos in Matiranga on Sunday. The speakers demanded exemplary punishment to those who are involved in this heinous attack. The programme was addressed, among others, by Assistant Organizing Secretary of the council Monalisha Chakma, President of Bangladesh Adibashi Chhatra Sangram Parishad Ananta Bikash Dhamai, Assistant General Secretary of the organisation’s city unit Shubhakar Chakma and its Organizing Secretary Sumon Marma. President of the organisation Karington Chakma presided over the programme. After the rally a procession brought out by the council paraded the entire campus of Dhaka University.  
Probaho Sangsad
A discussion on ‘Couple Friendly Dinner’ marking the 48th founding anniversary of traditional social organisation ‘Probaho Sangsad’ was held recently in Naogaon. Textiles and Jute Minister M Emaz Uddin Pramanik was present as the chief guest. While speaking the minister laid emphasis on united efforts through different clubs and social organisations against all social misdeeds to ensure peace and tranquility in the society. ‘Clubs and social organisations have been playing a vital role to develop the local education, culture and sports,” he added. The minister said the country has achieved remarkable progress in socioeconomic index under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Local Lawmaker M Abdul Malek attended the function as special guest with convener of the organising committee Narayan Chandra Saha in the chair.
