BD Crop Protection Assoc
An interactive session organised by different organisations including Bangladesh Crop Protection Association (BCPA) was held on Monday at the Armed Forces Division (AFD) conference room, Dhaka Cantonment. The usage and classification of schedule chemicals and the conventions on import, stockpiling and use of chemicals in pesticides and herbicides by different factories, chemical safety and securities and the duties and responsibilities of Bangladesh National Authority of Chemical Weapons Convention (BNACWC) were discussed in the session. Representatives of Bangladesh Univercsity of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh Chemicals Industries Corporation (BCIC) and officers of BNACWC were present as speakers. Total 35 officials from BCPA, Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Department of Agricultural Extention were present in the interactive session.
Bangladesh Bioethics Society
A three-day intensive bioethics training course organised by Bangladesh Bioethics Society (BBS) in collaboration with Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) and American University of Sovereign Nation (AUSN), USA was concluded recently at the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) in the city. As many as 45 professionals from home and abroad participated in the training. General Secretary of BBS Prof Shamima Parvin Lasker said that bioethics has gained immense importance in the world due to rapid advancement in science and technology and drastic change in macroeconomic planning and globalization.. BBS President Prof Taslima Monsoor and renowned resource persons from home and abroad were present at the concluding day of the training course.
