Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi
South Asian Cultural Convention on Anti Imperialism and Communalism organised by Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi, a cultural organisation will be held from February 19 to 21 on the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will join it as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony on February 19 at 3pm while Comrade Jasim Uddin Mandal, Kamakhya Roy Chowdhury and Prof Jatin Sarker will present on the occasion. As part of the convention, Udichi will organise open photography exhibition. Artists are requested to send their photographs on the topic of ‘Effect of Imperialism and Communalism’ by February 15 at its central office on 14/2, Topkhana Road.
Swatantra Ebtedayee Madrasha Shikshak Samity
A rally organised by Bangladesh Swatantra Ebtedayee Madrasha Shikshak Samity was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Thursday. In the rally the speakers demanded of the government to give salary under the national pay scale. The leaders also warned to continue their movement till their demands were not met. The rally was attended, among others, by Assistant Secretary of Awami League Sub-Committee Sagor Ahmed Shahin, Chief Adviser of the organisation Mokhlesur Rahman and Senior Vice-President Nazrul Islam Hiron. Joint Secretary General of the samity Abu Musa Bhuiyan conducted the rally with Kazi Ruhul Amin Chowdhury in the chair.
