A workshop titled ‘Integrating modern online techniques for teaching Biochemistry and Molecular Biology’ organised by Bangladesh Society of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology will be held on February 7 next at the Center for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS) of Dhaka University. Local as well as expatriate Bangladeshi scientists and teachers working in prestigious universities of USA will act as resource persons. Teachers of different categories from public and private universities will be the participants of the workshop. This workshop will be supported by International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB).
Samdani Art Foundation
 The 3rd Dhaka Art Summit has been extended to four days from 10 am to 9 pm from February 5 to 8, 2016. This was announced officially at a press conference at Shilpakala Auditorium yesterday. Nadia Samdani, President and Co-Founder, Samdani Art Foundation, Rajeeb Samdani, Co-Founder, Samdani Art Foundation, Zakir Ibne Hai, Chief Operating Officer, Golden Harvest and Artist Md. Moniruzzaman Samdani Art Foundation were present at the press conference. The Dhaka Art Summit is the biggest internationally publicized cultural event from Bangladesh and a meeting place for over 600 artists, curators, writers, art professionals and collectors from around the world. This year, the Dhaka Art Summit 2016 is supported by over 80 institutions including Harvard University, Centre Pompidou France, Rockefeller Foundation, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Swiss Arts Council among others. International museums such as the Tate Modern, Metropolitan Museum of Art New York, Solomon R Guggenheim, Rubin Museum and Kunsthalle Zurich have all lent their curators to the Dhaka Art Summit 2016 to help design an art programme. During the Summit, over 50 international journalists are set to be in Dhaka covering the event, and Bloomberg TV is producing a 30-minute documentary on the Summit for a global audience. Over 130,000local visitors are expected at the 4-day Dhaka Art Summit, says a press release.
