Karmojibi Nari
A human chain organised by Karmojibi Nari was formed in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Wednesday in protest against violating of a schoolgirl after kidnapping at Fulgazi in Feni district. In the programme Shirin Akhtar, MP was present as the chief guest. While speaking Shirin called upon to form sexual harassment and eve teasing resistance committee in all educational institutions. The human chain was addressed, among others, by Convenor of Jatiya Nari Jote Afroza Haque Rina, Jubo Jote leader Roksana Khatun, President of Progatisheel Garments Sramik Federation Shirin Akhtar and Coordinator of Nari Moitree Rafika Khan.
Islamic University Journalists Assoc
The President and Secretary of Islamic University Journalists Association (IUJA) Mustafa Zubayer Alam and Shajahan Nobin respectively in a statement expressed deep shock at the death of a faction of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) President Altaf Mahmud. They said the nation has lost a prominent journalist and he will remain alive in the heart of the people. They also prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
