Communist Party of Bangladesh
A rally organised by the Communist Party of Bangladesh was held in front of the Muktibhaban in the city’s Purana Palton on Friday with a call to effect house rent control law. They also called upon all to resist imperialism and terrorist activities and build up left democratic alternative force. The event was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the organisation, city unit Dr Sajedul Haque Rubel, General Secretary, Palton thana unit Sekendar Hayat, leaders of the organisation Gouranga Lal Mallik, Narayan Chakravarty, Nurul Islam Gazi and Uttam Bhoumik. The programme was presided over by General Secretary, Palton branch Murshikul Islam Shimul. After the rally a procession paraded the city streets.
Bangladesh Labour Congress
Bangladesh Labour Congress organized a rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Friday with the convenor of the organisation Kalpana Aktar in the chair. In the rally the speakers demanded directives for the enhancement of salary in the non-government sector. Subrata Das conducted the rally. It was addressed, among others, by Member Secretary of Bangladesh Labour Congress Mia Masud, Babul Aktar, Rashedul Alam Raju, Fazlul Haque, Shahin Ahmed and Mazharul Islam.
Bangladesh Awami Muktijoddha Prajonmo League
A workers’ meeting of Bangladesh Awami Muktijoddha Prajonmo League, Kotwali Thana Unit was held with President Apu Dar in the chair on Friday . The meeting was addressed among others, by General Secretary Jewel Chakrabarty, Senior Vice President Rober Shil, Publicity Secretary-Md Sohan and Finance Secretary- Md Rasel . Speakers urged all pro-liberation forces to get united under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and foil the conspiracy against the government , says a press release .
Bangladesh Open University
An international workshop on capacity building of the teachers and IT staff of Bangladesh Open University( BOU) on e-Content Development concluded at the eLearning Center on the main campus of Gazipur yesterday. VC Prof Dr. M A Mannan was the chief guest in the ceremony and handed over the certificates among the participants and said, this training will definitely enhance the capability of the faculties to develop eLearning Courses. A total of 31 faculties from Open School and Business School and IT people from eLearning Center took part in the workshop. Dr. Manas Panigrahi from Commonwealth Educational Media Center for Asia, New Delhi and AshutoshTraunk from Hindustan Times were the resource persons. Concluding ceremony was chaired by Prof Dr Sadia Afroze Sultana, Dean, Open School. It was also addressed among others by Prof Dr. Md. Abu Taher, Treasurer and Prof Mostafa Azad Kamal, Director eLearning Center. Deans and high officials of the University were present in the ceremony, says a press release.
Gono Bishwabidyalay
An inception workshop on self assessment and quality assurance of pharmacy programme was held at Gono Bishwabidyalay campus yesterday. The workshop was organised by the Pharmacy Department of the university at the seminar room of academic building. Prof. Mesbahuddin Ahmad, VC was the chief guest and special guests were Prof Dr. Md. Delwar Hossain, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Md. Delower Hossain, Registrar of Gono Bishwabidyalay. The chief guest said, the infrastructure facilities of this university are better than other private universities of the country.
Now we have to maintain the standard quality for students. IQAC Director of the University and Head of Microbiology Department Prof Dr Md. Mostafizer Rahman presented keynote paper while Prof Dr. Md. Ashraf Ul Karim Khan, Dean, Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences of the University , Prof Mafruhi Sattar, Pharmacy Department of Dhaka University and Prof Dr. Sukalyan Kumar Kundu, Pharmacy Department of Jahangirnagar University were present among others. Dr. Golam Mohammad, Head, Self Assesment Committee, Pharmacy Department of Gono Bishwabidyalay chaired the workshop, says a press release.
