Border Guard Bangladesh( BGB)
Boader Guard Bangladesh ( BGB) arranged Azan and Kirat competition at its central Jam-e-Mosque, Pilkhana in the city like every year. This year the competition was held from 13 to 15 January. Soldiers Md Shahidul Islam, Md Abdul Aziz and Habilder Signal Md Abdus Sobahan secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. DG of BGB Maj Gen Aziz Ahmed ,BGBM,PBGM, PSC G was present as Chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony on Friday.
National Garment Workers Fed
National Garments Workers Federation organised a gathering in front of National Press Club and later the leaders submitted memorandum to the Ministry of Labour demanding reinstate of sacked garments workers , implementation of maternity leave, minimum wage and taking measures to stop harassment of the workers yesterday. Federation President Md Amirul Haq Amin presided over the meeting and it was addressed among others by Akota General Secretary Kamrul Hasan, federation General Secretary Mrs Shafia Parveen and federation leaders Mrs nurun Naher, Md Faridul Islam, Md Faruk Khan , Mrs Arifa Akhter and Md Kabir Hossain.
Dhaka South City Corporation
Dhaka South City Corporation and Dhaka University jointly launched a cleanliness drive at the historic Battala on the campus yesterday. Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayed Khokon inaugurated the programme and DU VC Prof Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique presided over. The inauguration function was also addressed by Pro-VC (Admin) Prof Dr Shahid Akter Hossain, Treasurer Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin, Arts Faculty Dean Dr Md Akteruzzaman and Commissioner of Ward No 21 Adv MA Hamid.
Daffodil International University
Daffodil International University ( DIU) organised a special alumni event in its 5th Convocation where about 200 successful alumni from the different levels joined with their family members at the permanent campus at Ashulia recently. They spent the whole day with a very interactive time among each others sharing emotions, gossiping , discussing and playing . In the event, 15 alumni were awarded in 11 categories for their successful career and contributions in the national and international level. The winners received awards from Md Sabur Khan, Chairman, BOT, DIU , Prof Dr yousuf Mahabubul Islam and VC Dr Aminul Islam.
