A discussion on ‘Human Rights through Prism of Gandhian Philosophy’ organized by Gandhi Ashram Trust marking International Day of Non-Violence was held recently at the CIRDAP auditorium in the city to celebrate the 146th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon was present as the chief guest. While addressing Menon said that conspiracy was on to destabilize the country following the announcement of the death verdict of two war criminals. The minister also said that Mahatma Gandhi’s message of non-violence was universal. The function was presided over by eminent economist Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya. The event was also addressed, among others, by Advocate Sultana Kamal, representative of the Indian High Commission, S Desh Pandey, Journalist Abul Maksud and the Secretary of the Ashram, Jharna Dhara Roy Chowdhury.
