Mahanagar Sarbojonin Puja Committee
The annual general meeting organised by Mahanagar Sarbojonin Puja Committee was held on the premises of Shri Shri Dhakeshwari National Temple in the city on Friday. In the meeting the leaders of the committee urged the government to reschedule this year’s public holiday on Durga Puja on October 22 instead of October 23 fixed earlier by the authorities as the festival will end through celebration of ‘Bijoya Dashami’ on Thursday. President of the committee JL Bhowmik presided over the programme. State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda was present as the chief guest. Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad President Shri Kazal Devnath inaugurated the meeting while Shri Swapan Bhattacharya, MP attended it as the special guest.
