Bangladesh Awami Tarun League
A discussion on ‘Ongoing politics’ organised by Bangladesh Awami Tarun League was held on Friday in the auditorium of the city’s Engineers’ Institution . Awami League Advisory Council member and former Minister Suranjit Sengupta was present as the chief guest. While speaking Suranjit urged BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to return to the democratic politics severing ties with Jama’at-e-Islami. “Please decide, whether you (Khaleda) will do politics with fanatic-militant outfits or in a democratic way,” he said. “The country in the meantime reached the status of a lower middle-income country under farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he added. The discussion was addressed, among others, by organisation leaders Narayan Debnath, Mahbubul Alam and Harun Chowdhury.
