Sammilito Muktijoddha Front :
A discussion on ‘Necessity of Freedom Fighters and their Offspring for making Secular Bangladesh imbued with the ideal of War of Liberation’ organized by Sammilito Muktijoddha Front was held recently in front of its office at Bangabandhu Avenue with its chairman Ismat Kadir Gama in the chair. Liberationn War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque was present as the chief guest.
While addressing Mozammel said that the government would form special tribunal to identify fake freedom fighters (FF) so that they could not file any case at normal courts. Referring to the freedom fighters observations about fake freedom fighters, the minister said “we have taken immediate steps to scrutiny the existing freedom fighters’ lists to sort out the fake freedom fighters.”Describing the minister’s personal proposal in this respect, he said fake freedom fighters would be given chances through newspapers to surrender their fake certificates before the concerned authority. Otherwise, he said, legal action would be taken against the fake freedom fighters.The minister said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman himself had formed the Freedom Fighters Fund which has an asset of about Taka 26,000 crore. Among others, Dhaka city Awami League publication secretary Abdul Haq Sabuj, Muktijoddha Mahmud Miah and secretary general of the front Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury took part in the discussion.
