Awami Olama League
A human chain was formed by Awami Olama League in front of the National Press Club in the city on Saturday. Nine like-minded Islamist parties including Awami Olama League (AOL) demanded enactment of anti-shutdown act immediately. The speakers said ‘It is the high time to enact an anti-shutdown act for protecting the country and its people from the vengeance of Jamaat-Shibir’. The human chain was addressed, among others, by AOL vice-presidents Mawlana Abu Bakar Siddique, Muhammad Abdus Sattar, general secretary Muhammad Abul Hasan Sheikh. The speakers thanked the government for executing the death verdict against Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah for his crimes against humanity, and also urged for completing trials of rest of the war criminals soon.
