Rights Movement
A seminar on ‘Education rights of Dalit people’ jointly organised by ‘Bangladesh Dalit and Excluded Rights Movement’ and ‘Nagorik Uddyog’ was held recently at the Multipurpose Hall of the BIAM Foundation in the city’s Eskaton. Professor of the Department of International Relation of Dhaka University (DU) Dr Amena Mohsin was present at the seminar as the chief guest. While addressing Dr Amena called upon the Dalit people to be conscious about their rights of overall development including education. The seminar was attended, among others, by Mesbah Kamal of History Department of DU, Rabindranath Saren, President of Jatiya Adibashi Parishad and Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Associate Professor of Anthropology Department of Jahangirnagar University.
Majharul Islam, Researcher on Dalit Human Rights Affairs presented the keynote.
