BSS, Dhaka :The Appellate Division (AD) of the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday set today to pass order on an appeal filed by Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, challenging the order of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 that fined him for committing contempt of court.The four-member AD panel of the ICT-2 set the date after holding hearing on the matter on Monday. Senior advocate Abdur Rezak Khan and Barrister Abdullah Al Mamun yesterday moved for the contemnor, while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam stood for the state.The second tribunal on June 10 sentenced Dr Zafrullah to a simple sentence of imprisonment for one hour and fined him Taka five thousand, in default one moth imprisonment.The contemnor served the sentence of imprisonment on that day but filed an appeal against the order of fine on June 16. AD Chamber Judge Justice Hasan Foez Siddique on that day stayed the order and sent it to the full bench for further hearing.
