Khalaf murder: Order on review petition Oct 7

The Supreme Court on Thursday fixed October 7 for delivering order on a review petition against its judgement that upheld the death penalty of a convict in sensational Saudi embassy official Khalaf Al Ali murder case.
The four-member Bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice
 
Syed Mahmud Hossain fixed the date after hearing the review petition.
The SC on November 1, 2017 upheld the High Court verdict that gave capital punishment to Saiful Islam Mamun, life term to three others and acquitted one in the murder case.
The lifers are: Mohammad Al Amin, Rafiqul Islam Khokon and Akbar Ali Lalu. They are all behind bars.
Saudi embassy official Khalaf Al Ali, 45, was shot dead in the city’s Gulshan area near his residence on March 06, 2012.
On December 30, 2012, a Dhaka court sentenced all the five accused to death.
On November 18, 2013, the High Court, in a major revision to a trial court verdict, acquitted one of the five condemned convicts and awarded life term to three others and upheld the death sentence awarded to saiful Islam.
