UNB, Dhaka :The High Court on Wednesday fixed November 16 for passing order on three petitions filed by BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir seeking bail in the three arson cases filed against him with Paltan police station.An HC bench comprising justice M Rezaul Haque and justice M Khasruzzaman passed the order after a hearing.President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Khandaker Mahbub Hossain and Advocate Jainul Abedin stood for the petitioner, while Additional Attorney General Tajuddin Fakir represented the state.On 2 November, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court asked Mirza Fakhrul to surrender to a lower court turning down his bail petition seeking extension of the deadline for his surrender in the three cases.Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate M Maruf Hossain sent the BNP leader to jail rejecting his bail prayers after he surrendered before a court here on November 3.
