District administration and police authority of Chittagong suspended the operational activities of all natures from yesterday till further order centring the killing of 10 guests through stampede while feeding to the locals on the occasion ritual mezban following the death of former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury who died on Friday last.
Asstt. Commissioner of police Md. Jahangir Alam confirmed the matter to this correspondent . The stampede incident occurred on Monday at 11 am while entering into the community hall breaking the entrance gate . In the meatime 1 5-members committee headed by Additional District Magistrate was instantly constituted and the probe committee is undergoing investigation of the tragic incident in a religious feeding.
