The Popular Life Insurance Dhaka Metropolis Open Women’s Volleyball competition will begin today (Saturday) at volleyball stadium in the city.
Popular Life Insurance managing director BM Yousuf Ali will formally inaugurate the meet as the chief guest, organised by Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF). BVF general secretary Ashikur Rahman Miku and other federation officials will also present as special guests.
Women’s volleyball committee’s president and police super of Bangladesh Police Syeda Zannat Ara will preside over the opening ceremony.
A total of seven teams, split into two groups, are taking part in the four-day meet sponsored by Popular Life Insurance.
Participating teams:
Group A – Wari Club, United Club, Bangladesh University of Professional and Sparkling Andromeda Club.
Group B – Shahbagh Sporting Club, Viqarunnisa Noon School & College and Dhaka University.
