The Rainbow Open FIDE Rapid Rating Chess tournament was held on Friday at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.
Three players are sharing lead in the points table with maximum 5 points each after 5th round games, organised by Rainbow Chess Club.
They are CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh, CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed and FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon. Mohammed Enayet Hossain is in 2nd position with 4.5 points. In 5th round CM Chanchal beat CM Sohel Chowdhury, CM Mahtab beat S M Sahron, FM Mahfuz beat M Abu Hanif and Enayet beat Mohammad Aminul Islam.
A total of 124 players participated in the event. The event was held in eight round Swiss-League system and cash prize of Taka 30,000 was handed over to winners.
