Online “Japan Lecture Series” launched

A two-session online lecture series titled “Japan Lecture Series” has been commenced on February 17 through holding the first session.
The second session of the seminar, jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan and East Asia Study Center of Dhaka University, will be held on February 25, said a press release.
More than 100 people, including students and faculty members of Dhaka University, took part in this online seminar.
While addressing the seminar, Japanese Ambassador ITO Naoki said it is important to foster mutual understanding and academic interactions between Japan and Bangladesh.
“I hope this Lecture Series will be able to contribute to the deepening of the mutual understanding of the two countries,” he added. Professor OHASHI Masaaki of University of the Sacred Heart, Japan presented the keynote speech titled “NGOs for International Cooperation in Japan and its Relations with the Japan Government and Academia”. In the second session of the series, scheduled for February 25, Professor OIWA Takaaki of JICA Research Institute will give a lecture titled “Deconstruction of Regions: The Emerging Role of Subregional Cooperation in Asia”.
The second session will also be available online for anyone through FB live.
