An international online gambling (betting) is active in Bangladesh centering the game of cricket. According to law enforcements, this organized ring has been siphoning off crores of taka every day from the country and investing in cryptocurrencie . The ring has smuggled TK 20 to 30 crore abroad in the last one year. They start their initial transactions through mobile banking.
Additional Commissioner of Police (DB) AKM Hafeez Akhter disclosed it in a press conference in the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division on Wednesday (February 23).
The operation was conducted by the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
