Detective police have arrested five people, including ringleader Bappi, on charges of cheating in the name of selling goods in online from Dhanmondi in the capital.
According to DB, the cycle had been cheating the people for six years. They swindled taka 25 to 30 lakh every month.
This information was given by Deputy Commissioner of Police of Lalbagh Division of Detective Police Rajib Al Masud in a press conference at DMP Media Center on Monday morning.
He said that the cycle used to cheat through 21 web pages. All the arrested are residents of Narail district.
The DB police official said that some unscrupulous employees of SA Paribahan were cooperating with the gang in
various ways. Police also said that they were selling products with flashy advertisements on various Facebook pages.
A case has been filed against this gang in Hazaribagh police station under digital law.
