City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin said in order to bring the organizational discipline of the city corporation, Chittagong city corporation has achieved great success beyond expectations. He disclosed it while addressing the civic reception meeting in observance of the one year’s performance of the present tenure o f AJ M Nasir Uddin at Engineers Institute hall yesterday morning . AJM Nasiurddin assumes as city mayor on July 26 last year after landslide victory of the BNP nominee Manzoor Alam. He said city corporation achieved success in overall conservancy works and removal o f bill boards from the city . He said utmost efforts are continuing to save the city dwellers from the curse of the waterlogging .
All canals and Chaktali Khal is being digged with retaining wall and culverts, drains are being repaired with durable constructions. He said his commitments in the election manifesto, will be fulfilled during his tenure successfully and said within next three years , Chittagong will be turned into a dream city. The civic rally begin from 11 am at the IEB hall at 11 am and a separate pandel erected outside the hall for the invited guests.
The rally was arranged aimed at apprising the activities so achieved during the tenure of the incumbent mayor. Personal secretary to the Mayor Manzurul Islam was the moderator in it. Moulana Harunur Rashid recited Holy Quran before start of the civic reception. Chief Executive Officer of CCC Kazi Md. Shafiul Alam delivered address of welcome in it. He said this civic rally is the outcome of the Mayor’s transparency and accountable to his responsibilities.
The incumbent mayor is going ahead to built the city into a eye catching city through consulting with the city planners, experts, and local govt representatives. On behalf of t he panel mayors, Nisaruddin Manzu delivered his speech. He said we see revolutionary changes achieved in the present regime of AJM Nasir Uddin. City mayor presented us a bill board free city. Among others, senior journalists of the port city also addressed the rally, sources said.
