A mobile court in the port city recovered about 50 tons of Jatka(fries of Hilsa) and deained 5 workers including cook from a fish trawler at Sadarghat point of Karnaphuli River in city yesterday evening.
In connection of the indiscriminate fishing of Jatka, fishing trawler FV Naz Moin was detained by the law enforcers and recovered these jatka fishes. District administration and RAB jointly conducted the raid , sources said.
Executive Magistrate of the district administration Abdullah al Mansur led the mobile court. He told the media men that a fishing trawler FV NAZ MOIN anchored at Sadarghat area in the river with Jatka fish and sensing the news of jatka unloading, mobile court conducted raid in that trawler and recovered these huge jatka from the cold storage of the trawler, sources said.
The captain of the trawler could not be detained but 5 persons including fishermen, workers in the trawler were arrested. These detained fishes will be distributed in orphan houses in city and the upazila areas of Chittagong , Executive Magistrate said.
