Maheshkhali Police recovered nearly one thousand liters of wine from the Kushbazom area of Maheshkhali Upazila on Friday .
Based on secret information, the police found that the liquor factory of the upazila .
A team of police led by Maheshkhali Police Station OC Pradip Kumar Das on Friday unearhed a factory in Kutubjom Tazia Katra area of the upazila and seized nearly one thousand liters of alcohol and liquor products.
Maheshkhali Police Station Sub-Inspector Deepak Biswas said, local UP member Shamsul Alam and union Ansar leader Md Shafiul Islam are allegedly involved in this illegal business and the factories were established in the house of Tajweater Sannoyara, Babul Mia and Nagu Mia.
In cooperation with Hossain, the operation was led by the OC. He said that about five thousand containers of the three houses buried in the house were seized and about 1 thousand liters of wine was seized.
Besides, various equipment and materials for production of alcohol were seized from the spot .
Maheshkhali OC Pradip Kumar Das said, the case will be prosecuted under the Narcotics Control Act.
