One person was killed when he was trying to stop the altercation among two persons at Nandir Hat area under Hathazari upazila in Chittagong Saturday night. The victim was identified as Jahangir Alam.
Sources said, Helal and Salah Uddin locked in quarrel for only Tk 2,500 at Nandir Hat area under Hathazari upazila in Chittagong at around 10 pm. Jahangir Alam tried to stop them from quarrel at that time. But, Helal and his accomplice Mamun who were locked in quarrel with Salah Uddin stabbed Jahangir Alam causing his severe injury at that time.
Locals sent victim Jahangir Alam to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. But, he died on the way to hospital. As a result, the duty doctors declared Jahangir Alam dead after reaching the hospital.
Officer in -charge of Hathazari thana Belal Uddin Jahangir said, “Helal and Salah Uddin locked in quarrel for only Tk 2500 at Nandir Hat area under Hathazari upazila in Chittagong at around 10 pm.
But, victim Jahangir Alam had gone there to stop them.” Meanwhile, police arrested Helal and his accomplice Mamun with arms. A case was filed in this connection.
