A man shot dead as miscreants killed him at Khalpar area under Bakalia thana early Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Lokman Hossain, 35, lived in Poshushala area of the city where he operated a cooling appliances store. ASI Shilbrat Barua of Chittagong Medical College Police Outpost said on-duty doctor declared him dead after his bullet-ridden body was brought to the hospital.
Meanwhile, a teenager from the Bakalia Khalpar area was in a dispute with two other teenagers from Golpahar area, said Md Shamim, who took the body of Lokman to the hospital. He went to the area with Lokman to settle the matter. “Lokman died after being shot by the opposing side,” said Shamim.
Five to seven rounds of bullets were fired that night, he added.
