Police have arrested another accused in the case filed in connection with the arson attack that claimed the lives of a woman and her three daughters at Sohaghpur village in Mirzapur upazila. Abul Kalam, an FIR-named accused in the case, was arrested from Savar of Dhaka district early Monday, said police.
Shyamal Kumar Dutta, sub-inspector of Mirzapur Police Station, said following the confessional statement of Badar Uddin, police conducted a drive in Savar and arrested Abul Kalam. Meanwhile, eight more accused, including
mastermind of the incident Jahangir Hossain, remained absconding since the incident.
Hasna Begum, 30, wife of Mujibur Rahman, a Malaysia expatriate, and their daughters – Mariam, 14, Mali, 4, Mim 6, of South Sohagpara village were burned to death early Tuesday as miscreants set fire to their house following previous enmity.
Mofazzal Hossain, brother of victim Hasna, filed a case against 11 people including Jahangir, with Mirzapur Police Station.
