A bus helper, who sustained severe burn injuries in an arson attack in the capital’s Rampura area, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday morning.
The victim has been identified as Bappi Ahmed, 25, son of Md Dulal, inhabitant of Netrakona district, said Partha Sankar Pal, residential surgeon of the hospital’s Burn Unit.
Bappi received burn injuries when blockade supporters hurled petrol bombs at a bus on February 12.
Later, he was admitted to the DMCH with 70 percent
burn injuries in his body.
So far, more than 75 people have died and scores have been injured in different parts of the country in violence during the ongoing blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20 party alliance.
