One mound locally made wine known as Bangla or Cholai mad recovered and seized from a house of Kachu Patty of Bagerhat district town by the police on Wednesday afternoon and 6 drug traders and drug addicted persons were arrested from the different places of Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat district.
Md. Mahatab Uddin, O/C of Bagerhat Model PS disclosed to the newsmen, acting on a secret information police raided the Kacu Paatty of the town in the afternoon, recovered and seized 40 kgs locally made and distilled wine known as Bangla mad or Cholai mad kept in plastic bottles from the house of one Tuni. But sensing the appearance of the police Tuni fled away from the house. In this connection a regular case was registered with the local Model PS against Tuni. On the other hand, DB police and police of Bagerhat Model PS jointly raided the various places of the Upazila as a part of anti-drug drive and arrested 6 persons on the charge of selling and taking drugs.
