A total of 1, 01,758 Bangladeshis will perform the holy hajj this year. Of them, 10,000 pilgrims will perform Hajj under government management and rest 91,758 under private management, an official release said.
The parliamentary standing committee on Religious Affairs Ministry in its 11th meeting at Jatiya Sangsad with its President Bazlul Haque Harun in the chair discussed the matter alongside other issues regarding the hajj.
Among others, committee members Habibur Rahman Molla, Sadhan Chandra Barman, A.K.M.A Awal, Syed Nazibul Basher Maijbhandari, Md. Mokbul Hossain, Mohammad Amir Hosain and Dilara Begum, were present at the meeting.
The meeting also discussed the overall hajj management and hailed some members of the parliamentary body for successfully resolving different problems particularly related to accommodations by holding meetings with the concerned authorities after visiting Saudi Arabia.
