One lakh fifteen thousand Yaba tablets seized, 2 held

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh recovered one lakh pieces of Yaba tablets from Nazirpara area in Teknaf upazila early Tuesday.
Lt Col Abu Jar Al Zahid, commanding officer of BGB-2, said a team of the border guards conducted a drive in the area around 1.30am and seized the Yaba in an abandoned condition.
The market value of the seized Yaba tablets is Tk 3 crore.
Another report adds: Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested two drug peddlers with 15,000 pieces of yaba tablets from city’s Bhairsignal area under Chandgaon thana on Tuesday evening.
The arrested were identified as Mohammad Delwar Hossain, 26, hailed from Cox’s Bazar district and Liakat Ali Raju, 21, hailed from Banskhali upazila of the district.
On a tip-off, a team of the Chandgaon Thana Police conducted a raid in front of Samuda Chemical Complex under the area and arrested the drug peddlers from a private car.
The police team also recovered the contraband drugs from their possession and detained the vehicle in this connection. A case was filed with Chandgaon thana.
