A man was killed in a clash over land-related dispute at Basail village in Sirajdikhan upazila of the district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Md Mojibor Khan, 50, son of Jahed Khan, a resident of Basail village of the upazila.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sirajdikhan Police Station Yeardous Hasan said Nuru Khan, son of Babul Khan also a resident of the village, had long been at loggerheads with Mojibor Khan over the ownership of a piece of land.
Over the issue, they locked into a clash with locally made weapons at around 4:30pm yesterday when Nuru Khan hit by sharp weapon Mojibor Khan, leaving him seriously injured.
Later, he succumbed to his injuries on way to Upazila Health Complex.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to Munshiganj General Hospital for autopsy, the OC added.
