An young man was killed when a fire broke out in front of Rubber Factory after a blast of an electric transformer at Kamalbagh in the capital city on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ohidul Islam, 24. He used to work in a rubber factory.
Mohammad Ratan, colleague of deceased Ohidul Islam said that the electric transformer exploded around 10:30pm. Ohidul who was standing beside the electric pole suffered burn injuries.

(DMCH) Police Camp confirmed the matter to media that after the incident he was brouight to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead.
But details of the deceased couldn’t be known instantly, SI added.
