A motorcyclist was killed and his co-rider was injured seriously in a road mishap at Powel area on the Chapainawabganj-Amnura road under sadar upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Isarul, 50, son of Altaf Hossain of Palashpur village under Chapainawabganj Municipality. His co-rider Mukul Hossain, 32 of the same area was injured seriously.
Police and local sources said, they were going back to their house from Amnura and suddenly a human hauler (locally known as bhutbhuti) coming from the opposite direction hit their motorcycle injuring them seriously around 5.15pm.
They were rushed to the Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital where the on duty doctor declared Isarul dead.
Injured Mukul was referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, police said.
