UNB, Dinajpur :
A man was killed and eight others injured in a clash between two rival groups over a land-related dispute at Boro Haripur Chandina village in Parbatipur upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 58, a resident of the village.
Quoting locals, police said two groups – one led by Nazrul and the other by Abul Haque-of the village had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.
On Monday morning, when the men of Abul Haque went to the disputed land for plantation, Nazrul obstructed them.
At one stage, men of the both the groups attacked each other with sharp weapons, leaving nine people injured including Nazrul.
