An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League was killed and 10 others were injured in a fierce clash between two groups of ruling Awami League in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna district on Wednesday.
The entire area was rocked with gunshots when both the groups exchanged fire during the clash that took place in the area at around 1:00pm.
“The deceased was identified as Badhan Khandkar, 26, a local BCL leader,” said Additional Superintendent of Police Siddiqur Rahman. He said: “The clash took place between two groups — one led by AL activist Kalam Hossain Mithu while the other by BCL man Milon Khandakar — around 1:00pm over maintaining supremacy at Muladuli Bazar.” The injured could not be identified immediately.
