One person was killed and 50 others injured when a semi-pucca tinshed government primary school building collapsed in Bana union under Alfadanga upazilla of the district during a football match on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Rubel Hadi,30,son of Azizar Hadi of the upazila.
Police said, a large number of enthusiastic football fans climbed on the rooftop of the” MA Mazid Government Primary School” to watch the final football match between Lohagara team and Bana team on the school ground.
At one stage the tinshed building collapsed killing Hadi on the spot and 50 others injured, police added.
All injured, three in critical condition, were admitted to Alfadanga and Boalmari upazila hospitals.
Local lawmaker Abdur Rahman and uno Md.Khairuzzaman visited the hospitals to see the injured persons last night.
