One died and five others were critically injured when the roof of a under-construction building of Kushtia Medical College Hospital collapsed on them at Mollateghoria in Kushtia town on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Bazlu Miah, 60, son of Bhadu Pramanik, an inhabitant of
Kumarkhali of Faridpur district.
The details of other injured people could not be known instantly.
Firoz Kutubi, Deputy Director of Kushtia Fire-Service said that the roof of the building collapsed on the workers while they were working there.
On information, three units of fire-fighter rushed to the spot and began the operation to rescue the people trapped beneath the rubble.
