A member of organized group, who has been continuing their forgery business in the port city for long was held yesterday with thousand fake US dollar.
On secret information, a team of Detective Branch (DB) conducted the raid at city’s Kotuali area on Friday, recovering over hundred fake US notes of 100 dollar.
The arrestee, identified as Mohammad Sahed (40), son of late Mahibullah hailed from Char Tabgee under Ramgati upazila in Laxmipur. A case was filed with Kotuali Thana in this connection, Sub-Inspector Sujon Kanti Barua of CMP’s Detective Branch confirmed it to this correspondent.
After interrogation Sahed confessed to have link with the group and admitted that he took the currencies from a man, residing city’s Hathazari area. Police already conducted separate operations in different parts of the city to round up the other involved.
