Customs officials arrested a man along with six gold bars weighing 1.081 kg at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport early Thursday.
The arrested was identified as Humayun Kabir, a resident of Titas upazila of Comilla district.
Sohel Rahman, joint commissioner of Dhaka Customs House, said Humayun came here from Malaysia by a flight of Malaysian Airlines around 12:15am.
The officials challenged Humayun when he was coming out of the airport through the green channel and recovered 1.081 kg gold from his shoes.
