Police arrested a person along with sharp weapon from Tara Gate area under Bayezid Thana on Saturday morning.
The arrestee was identified as M Jamal, 20, son of late Jainal Abedin, hailed from Pirojpur.
M Mohosin, Officer-in-Charge of Bayezid Police Station said, acting on a tip off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Jamal at around 9:00am.
In primary investigation he confessed to keeping the weapon to kill one of his opponent group members during clash.
A case was filed with Bayezid Police Station in this connection.
