Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a drive arrested a top drug trader with phensidyl from Chittagong Medical College (CMC) east gate area on Tuesday night.
The arrested was identified as Alauddin Alo, 38.
On a tip-off, a team of Panchliash Thana Police raided in the area and arrested Alauddin with five bottles of phensidyl.
In primary interrogation the arrested drug trader confessed to the police that he was the top leader of professional snatching group and they had been trading phensidyl in the port city for long.
A case was filed with Panchliash Thana in this connection.
Police sources said a total of eight cases were pending against Alauddin at different police stations.
