Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested one person with 39,500 pieces of smuggled bidis from Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on Sunday evening.
The arrested person is Md. Mofakkar Ali, 52, of Mohipur village under Gobratala union of the upazila.
RAB said, an operation team of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp, on secret information, conducted a raid in Gobratala Bazar area at 7.20 pm and arrested Ali with the bidis.
Later, the arrestee was handed over to the police. A case was also recorded in this connection.
