RAB forces in Chittagong city rounded up one illegal internet provider named Imran Hossain (24) from Rumghata of Dewan Bazar area under Kotwali thana in city on Sunday night.
Forces recovered huge VOIP equipments worth about Tk.11 lakh from his possession. The detained VoiP user Imran hails from Satkania upazila of Chittagong , son of one Nurul Kabir, sources said.
The seized VoIP equipment includes 2,649 SIMs, a number of computers, modem, gateway, rider, entina and connecting cods. RAB-7 sources said acting on secret information, they conducted raid in a rental house of the area and detained the youth with illegal equipments.
On interrogation of the accused, he confessed that he is involved with this illegal business since long. Legal actions under ICT Act will be taken against him, sources said.
